Vashtorr the Arkifane, the new robot daemon on the block takes to the Dark Angels by besieging their Rock. Wonder how it’ll go.

A new wave of Chaos malevolence, malfeasance, and many other words that start with mal, take your pick, is about to kick off with this week’s pre-order releases. A new Arks of Omen book is here, bringing more rules for boarding actions, and a new infernal foe: Vashtorr the Arkifane.

And Vashtorr the Arkifane isn’t here just to look like a cyberdaemon, he’s here to besiege the Rock. A strategy that has been tried by everyone from Chaos to xenos to the Imperium a time or two, depending on who you ask. How has it gone? Well the Rock is still here. But hey, maybe being an Arkifane means this time it’ll stick.

Vashtorr the Arkifane And Friends

Vashtorr is front and center in the third installment of Arks of Omen. This new book not only advances the ongoing narrative, it also introduces a Boarding Actions campaign with eight new narrative missions. So you can see for yourself how it goes.

Alongside that, there are Boarding Action rules for Chaos Daemons, Necrons, Tyranids, Genestealer Cults, the Death Guard, and the Adeptus Mechanicus.

Of course you’ll need the minis to play this out. And for that, you’ll need the Wrath of the Soul Forge King boxed set. This contains both the Arkifane himself, as well as the Dark Angels Supreme Grand Master, Azrael.

Alongside them are 2 Obliterators, 10 Chaos Cultists, and a Venomcrawler, as well as 10 Intercessors, 5 Deathwing Terminators, and two Dark Angils Primaris Upgrade frames so you can kit everyone out the way you want.

Boarding Patrol Buddies

It’s a Boarding Patrol bonanza this week as well. With Boarding Patrols for four more factions. Starting with the mighty Mechanicus, whose Boarding Patrol comprises a Tech-Priest Dominus leading 10 Skitarii Vanguard/Rangers, 5 Sicarian Infiltrators/Ruststalkers, and 3 Kataphron Destroyers/Breachers. So you’ll have to make some choices.

Chaos cries havoc and lets slip the dogs of war. Well. The Hounds of Khorne, at any rate. In this Boarding Patrol box you’ll find 10 Bloodletters, 10 Flesh Hounds, and Karanak, the Hound of Vengeance himself leading the way.

In the Death Guard Boarding Patrol box you’ll find a Lord of Virulence, 3 Deathshroud Terminators, and 10 Plague Marines with a variety of weapon options.

Last, but not least, especially in terms of raw numbers, the Genestealer Cults Boarding Patrol. A Kelermorph leads the charge, alongside an Abominant, 5 Aberrants, and 10 Acolyte Hybrids/Hybrid Metamorphs.

Horus Heresy’s New Toys

In the Age of Darkness, the big guns are brought out. Horus Heresy gets a wave of pre-order releases as well. This time it’s the Typhon Heavy Siege Tank, the only tank with enough dakka for Perturabo, thanks to its signature dreadhammer siege cannon.

Alpha Legion’s premier assassin is also here. And has been the whole time. Check out Exodus, the One who is Many.

And wrapping it all up, the Traitor Esoterist Consul, who dabbles in forbidden lore just enough to wield totally sick powers for the good of… well, Chaos ultimately, whichever side the Esoterist was on.

All this, next week!
