Worlds Beyond Number is a D&D podcast starring Brennan Lee Mulligan, Erika Ishii, Aabria Iyengar, and Lou Wilson, and it is everything.

Last night, Worlds Beyond Number officially kicks things off today bringing an epic campaign of D&D 5th Edition, in the style of a home game—exactly out of that hazy memory of spending time with your friends as the hours lazily blur together while you game—to a podcast feed near you. And it all starts with a look at the characters when they’re growing into the adventurers they become. It’s the dream of a level-0 campaign realized before your eyes.

You can go listen to it right here. If you subscribed to the Patreon, you already know a little bit about what’s coming. Their first campaign, the Wizard, the Witch, and the Wild One is an epic, sprawling D&D5E campaign. Patrons of the podcast will be familiar with the characters a little bit thanks to previews that have been steadily dropping over the last couple of weeks, all as a preamble to the larger Children’s campaigns, which are available now.

And now, there’s so much podcast here to make you laugh, cry, and feel all the feelings. Just more emotions than you realized were possible at once. There’s an entire prologue campaign available for Patrons. All that not even to mention Cram Daniels. Who you are not prepared for. Even if you think you are. You aren’t.

Worlds Beyond Number – The Wizard, the Witch, and the Wild One

The Wizard, the Witch and the Wild One promises to be an epic campaign. Set in a “verdant, full-sized world,” the campaign is led by its DM: Brennan Lee Mulligan.

We wanted our first story to feel like the perfect home game of D&D, a sprawling world scratched out on graph paper behind the DM screen, characters crafted and pored over with the excitement of a kid opening presents, and most of all: time. Free to adventure in a world of limitless possibility, this surging saga affords us the chance to spend time in these characters and to fully explore, and change, the world. We wanted the kind of game that keeps you and your friends coming back to the table, not for weeks, but for years. We think we got it.

To create these characters and to help build out Brennan’s new setting, we didn’t just roll up new stats on a sheet and hit send, oh no. We played an entire Level 0 campaign, linking every aspect of character creation to the events of the fateful summer when our three protagonists first met. We call this the Children’s Adventure.

It’s a critical hit right in the nostalgia bone. And it is just an absolute treat. Do yourself a favor and get out there and listen to it. It’s the best podcast you never knew you needed.
