Details from the upcoming Bigby Presents: The Glory of the Giants have leaked, this time through WizKids reveals.

The next big book for D&D, Bigby Presents: Order of the Giants has gotten some inadvertent attention after WizKids announced new minis which seemed to reveal some of the upcoming monsters included in the book. While it’s not necessarily a surprise that the book all about giants has giants in it, the new reveals do get a bit more specific.

It seems like some of the giants might play with complexity. And magic powers (in particular Giant magic) seem to abound in the new book. Of particular note, the Death Giant Necromancer.

Bigby’s Giant Spoilers

The leaks come from distributor descriptions for the upcoming Icons of the Realms miniatures sets for Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants. And here, we get a look at some of the specific giants included in the next book.

  • Stone Giant of Evil Earth
  • Fire Hellion
  • Goliath Chief
  • Frostmourn
  • Giant Lynx
  • Death Giant Necromancer

And while details are a little sparse, we do get a better idea of what the Death Giant is all about:

This Huge miniature features a chilling expression reminiscent of the grave. The souls flitting about this wizard of the undead will be sure to inspire terror for all that look upon its fell visage.

The grave is calling… how will you answer?

It looks like Giant-specific magic plays a part in the book. This might explain why Bigby is presenting this book. After all, the Wizard is best known for his “Handy” spells. Throughout the editions of D&D Bigby has had telekinetic hands, grasping hands, and more. Most recently, he’s had a hand in the D&D movie.

We’ve seen giant-specific magic before in the form of the Rune Knight Fighter. Through them, we saw how each of the giant types wields their own special magic. And the giant hierarchy is organized around a concept known as the ordning which is itself a bit magical. Perhaps the glory of these giants is their special magic?

We’ll know soon enough!
