This Rumor Engine from Games Workshop is an odd one. There might be something fishy going on.

We’re just going to come out and say it: We’re stumped. This Rumor Engine is weird and we don’t know what the heck we’re looking at. But hey, it’s Tuesday and we’ve come to expect a brain teaser in model form. Don’t believe us? Take a look for yourself:

A breakthrough! All this time we’ve been treating the Rumour Engine like a sentient being – asking it nicely and so on – and we never tried just flicking its power switch off and on like a box of soulless silicon wafers we’ve tricked into approximating sentience. Let’s see who’s ‘too good for this monotonous servitude’ now, buckaroo.

Rumor Engine: Something Fishy

So uh…yeah. It’s weird. It looks like some sort of triangular “fin” or crest but it’s got those odd antenna on it. It looks organic instead of constructed…but who knows! It could be some sort of eldritch horror from beyond. Did you see the new Deathleaper? He’s got a bunch of tendrils and a tailcoat now!

That’s pretty “far-out eldritch horror” to me! On the other hand, maybe it’s something from a deep sea trench that just hasn’t been discovered yet.

Could it be from the Idoneth Deepkin? They would be a good option because of all the strange fish they have…if this is from the deep. What if it’s from an even deeper source of mystery like the lore of Warhammer?

It wouldn’t be the first time the Rumor Engine teased a deep-cut lore hint like this…

Deep space or deep sea? We don’t know! Whatever it is, it’s certainly odd. If you’ve got any clues or theories we’d love to read them in the comments. This truly is a strange Rumor Engine.

Got any ideas? Share them with the rest of the class.
