Games Workshop has released the Legends of the Horus Heresy datasheets for Warhammer 40,000. It’s Sicaran time!

If you were hoping for rules for your favorite Horus Heresy era units in Warhammer 40,000 you’re in luck! Games Workshop has just released 3 more Indexes for the Loyalists, Traitors, and Adeptus Mechanicus units from the Horus Heresy.

“You can download all the Legends of the Horus Heresy datasheets for free right here. There are three documents: one for the Adeptus Astartes, one for Heretic Astartes, and one for the Adeptus Mechanicus. In the first two documents, there are also rules for using some of those units in armies of Chaos Space Marines, World Eaters, Thousand Sons, and Death Guard.”

All of these datasheets have been reformatted and updated for the new edition. So if you’ve got these models and want to bring them to your 40k games you can do that again! That said there are a couple things to note:

As with other Warhammer Legends units, these venerable vehicles are still usable in matched play and Crusade games of Warhammer 40,000, but they are not recommended for use in a competitive tournament setting.”

So while their rules are compatible you should know they aren’t really designed for competitive tournament settings. Additionally, you might be wondering “Hey, where are the Adeptus Custodes and Knight Household rules?” Those are coming soon with upcoming Imperial Armour compendiums. They haven’t been released yet but are on the way.  Also coming soon are datasheets for non-Heresy-era units that will be heading to the Warhammer Legends side of things (aka retirement).

Don’t worry, the Sicaran isn’t going into retirement anytime soon…it just looks cool.

If you’ve got a Horus Heresy army and want to give 40k’s new edition a shot now you can! Just grab those datasheets and go.
