Flameo, Hotman! ‘Avatar: Crossroads of Destiny’ is Coming Soon to Your Table Top
In Avatar: Crossroads of Destiny, you’ll venture through narrative and combat challenges set in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Funko Games recently announced a new board game set in the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe, Avatar: Crossroads of Destiny. This cooperative strategy game will have players adventuring through story encounters and exciting combat challenges.
Cooperative Strategic Gameplay
Play as Aang, Katara, Sokka, or Toph and journey through the full story campaign of 15 story encounters and 12 replayable combats. Alternatively, jump right into your favorite moment and play your favorite mission in a single play session.
Players will be able to unlock new skills with dozens of unique character abilities, or gain new allies in order to defeat iconic villains brought right out of the beloved TV series.
Based on the available images, it looks like there will be grid-based combat with cards to facilitate action economy. Each mission will have special rules and objectives and my RPG-loving brain gets excited anytime I see the letters “XP”. But until Funko Games releases more details, we can still only speculate. Still, I’m excited to play through my favorite moments from the series. Plus, the art on the cards is stunning!
Avatar: Crossroads of Destiny Coming in 2023
The Avatar: Crossroads of Destiny board game is from Prospero Hall, who also brought us the Goonies board game and the Back to the Future board game. They’ve got a great library of fun and strategic games so I trust this upcoming Avatar game will also knock it out of the park. There is currently no listed release date other than sometime in 2023. So, hopefully, it’s soon.
