It might be the 4th of July but that doesn’t mean the Rumor Engine has the day off!

The Rumor Engine is firing-up and has blasted us with a new image plus we get some more meta-narrative jokes. Let’s dive into the both and see what we can see today!

Rumor Engine: Spikey Situation

So what are we looking at today? It’s certainly a strange angle…but it looks like some type of arm or appendage. Furthermore, it looks like it’s got a spike in it! As well as some other type of band around the wrist (?) of the arm (?) — it’s kind of hard to tell. If that is an elbow joint it looks rather odd.

What in the heck could this Rumor Engine be? Honestly, I’ve got no idea on this one. if this is someone’s appendage and it’s got a spike through it maybe it’s on a trophy wrack of some kind. It doesn’t look particularly bloody…maybe it’s undead?

Hmm…maybe it’s not Soulblight though. They don’t really have trophy wrack of bodies. Flesh-eater Courts are a little closer and they do have some pretty odd joints as well.

Then again, it could be something from the Chaos Range. Or heck, it could be some relic from the upcoming Cities of Sigmar range that we haven’t seen. They do like their odd bits and bones, too. If you’ve got any theories drop us a line in the comments with them. This one has us scratching our heads.

Meta-Narrative

This week we get another advancement of the story of the Rumor Engine. It’s been uh…”acting up” lately. And today GW is sending in some “help” to clear things up.

“Following discrepancies in recent Rumour Engine status reports, this department will be temporarily placed under the jurisdiction of the Inquis– we mean, the Office of Reduction, Divination, and Observation. Please note that during this period, normal Rumour Engine service may be disrupted, to comply with investigative procedures.

To aid in our work, you have been voluntarily enrolled in the Materials Analysis Department to comb bulk output for signs of aberrancy. Please examine the following image and provide a comprehensive analysis of suspected similarities to future releases.”

So we’ve got some jokes here. First up the ” Office of Reduction, Divination, and Observation” sounds interesting. But what are the initials? “O.R.D.O.” And considering it’s the “Inquis…” well, you get the idea. And the second in-joke is the “Materials Analysis Department” which also has the initials of “M.A.D.” — so yeah. I know I’ve gone a little “mad” analyzing these Rumor Engines over the years.
