All of the Knight kits from Games Workshop have been impressive but the Cerastus Knight Lancer might just take the cake.

When formerly resin kits gets the green light and goes full plastic it’s typically a good day. That’s because a lot of the kinks have been ironed out from the resin model and the plastic one gets the benefit of all those lessons learned. Well the latest model to get the resin-to-plastic upgrade is the Cerastus Knight and it’s quite impressive.

GW got Daren, a sculptor at the Specialist Design Studio, to work on the kit. Turns out he was the same person that worked on the resin one 10 years ago! That paid off some nice dividends for the new kit.

Daren: Most of the joints have kept their full range of motion, and the ankle pistons all slide in and out to accommodate various stances. The kit should appeal to both averagely skilled and more experienced hobbyists – the legs have set positions aimed at those who just want to get their Cerastus built, while the locator pegs that make this possible can be snipped off to make the joints fully poseable for anyone who wants to really play around with their Knight’s stance.

Cerastus Knight Lancer

The Cerastus Knight Lancer is one of those massive kits that is going to have a TON of options for the stance of the Knight. Hobbyists are going to really have a fun time putting this one together. Plus, because it’s in plastic now instead of resin, it’s going to be even easier to work on. Furthermore the Cerastus Knight is also going to be a lot lighter than the old resin one, too. Transportation should be a lot less scary for this kit.

It’s not just the materials and pose options for this model that improved either.

“The resin Cerastus Knights needed a separate upgrade set to show off their pilot – but now this Noble Scion is safely ensconced inside the plastic kit!”

That’s right! The cockpit has be redesigned with the “upgrade” in mind. It’s now included with this version and you can go nuts on the paint job inside this warmachine.

So get ready for the Cerastus Knight Lancer to take to the tabletop soon as this kit is on the way from GW! Oh and if you didn’t know the Cerastus Knight is available for use in BOTH the Horus Heresy and Warhammer 40,000, too. Just check the downloads page for it’s rules.

I’m looking forward to seeing all the crazy combat poses the fans come up with for this kit!
