Next week, a new Warcry starter set, Crypt of Blood launches a whole new terrain set and wrinkle on the skirmish game.

Warcry: Crypt of Blood is a brand new starter set from GW releasing for pre-order next week. With it, comes new gothic ruins (but this time they’re a little more fantasy, though that won’t stop you from using them in the grim darkness of the distant future), as well as two new warbands.

Though these warbands may be smaller than normal, their hearts are all the way in the fight. Let’s take a look at what’s in the box, as well as the two other warbands releasing individually next week.

Warcry: Crypt of Blood – Vampires Get In On The Action

First up the new box. Crypt of Blood has everything you need to start with Warcry. Though emphasis on the start. Both of the warbands featured in the game are smaller than normal. But that just leaves room to grow. You’ll see the Crimson Court as well as Xandire’s Truthseekers in the mix.

But many will find the real star of the show is the new terrain, which consists of a sarcophagus, statue, ruined walls, and several fences with an appropriate number of skulls embedded in and around them.

You’ll also find the 72-page core rules for Warcry as well as missions, cards, dice, all the usual stuff.

But alongside Warcry: Crypt of Blood you’ll also find two more Warbands now available on their own. Starting with the Questor Soulsworn.

These elite warriors are the crème de la crème of the Stormcast Eternals, expected to triumph over impossible odds as they take on lethal missions all across the Mortal Realms. This group of six warriors are each worth a company of lesser fighters, and contain fearsome specialists such as the Errant-Questor Duellist, an incomparable master of weaponry, and the Soulsworn Knight-Relictor, who performs powerful invocations and accessorises with skulls.

And the Royal Beastflayers, who do exactly what they say.

This twisted band of monster hunters includes a Royal Flaymaster, a Beastflayer Baron, a coterie of Ghoul Gore-Squires and Trackers, and two sinister simian brutes known as Offal Hounds.
