Legions Imperialis was delayed but that doesn’t mean we’re done wishlisting for this game. Here’s a few Daemon Engines we hope make the jump.

Let’s just get this out of the way. Yes, we’re bummed Legions Imperialis got pushed back. We really wanted to see our epic scale Horus Heresy armies get built and battle it out. We were also super excited about the possibilities of the game’s future release, too. GW teased that there would be more armies coming. And we had a few we wanted to see. With that in mind we wanted to focus on a few Daemon Engines that are confirmed to be in the Horus Heresy era and that we hope get released in epic scale, too!

Greater Brass Scorpion

The Greater Brass Scorpion is a classic Forge World model. It’s big and it would have a cool footprint on the tabletop at epic scale. Plus, you’d probably have them in a squad of 2 or 3. Imagine those crawling at you on the tabletop! They are pretty deadly against infantry but they can threaten larger targets with their heavier hitting attacks, too.

Khorne Blood Slaughterer Impaler

Another creepy model that in the same vein as the Brass Scorpion, this terror-inducing daemon engine scuttles its way across the battlefield looking for victims. It’s armed with an Impaler which is a harpoon designed to drag its victims closer so it can mangle them with it’s deadly claws. Again, I could easily see this being in a unit of 2-5 bases or something along those lines. It would be a good option to fill the ranks of the Daemon engine horde!

Chaos Decimator Daemon Engine

Hey, we got Contemptor Dreadnoughts why not some Daemon Engine versions of those? The Decimator Daemon Engine is a brutal creation that melds daemon and machine. Plus it cuts a strong silhouette on the battlefield. I would love to see these going to toe-to-toe (or maybe claw-to-fist?) with the traditional Horus Heresy Dreadnoughts.

Kytan Daemon Engine of Khorne

And finally we have the Kytan Daemon Engine of Khorne. Yes, it’s basically a Khorne Lord of Skulls but with legs. And yes, that basically makes it the size of an Imperial Knight. I’m not seeing any downsides here. That massive chain axe is perfect for taking skulls or hacking into other Knight-sized enemies. If GW does make this model happen in epic scale I hope they keep some of the articulation from the big one just so we can have them in some truly epic poses!

What are some Horus Heresy Era units that you hope make the jump to Legions Imperialis?
