Games Workshop has a free download for a new mission and a new way to “upgrade” your Outcast Gangs with this Necromunda Apocrypha.

Mutants and Outcasts have always been a thing in Necromunda’s lore. Going all the way back to the Outlanders Expansion there were rules to include them in your gangs/campaigns. However, Mutants have been absent from the Necromunda relaunch — until today. With the latest Necromunda Apocrypha we’re getting the chance at running a full Mutant Gang once again!

“In addition to a brand new scenario, ‘Out of the Pit’, in this month’s article you’ll find rules for creating Mutant Outcast Gangs using the rules in Book of the Outcast. This includes a new Outcasts Gang Leader Archetype – the Mutant – as well as a comprehensive list of mutations for use in your games of Necromunda.”

Mutants Return ‘Out of the Pit’

First up, you will need the Book of the Outcasts to fully build out your Mutant Gang. That’s because you’ll need to use the Outcast Gang rules as your base. In essence, the Mutant rules are kind of a modifier to the Outcasts — which makes sense. Living that far down the sump or outside of a hive is grounds to exposure to all sorts of things that can mutate you.

If you have that book the next thing you’ll need is this free download for the ‘Out of the Pit’ scenario. While it IS a standalone scenario it also has the rules for creating your Mutant Gangs.

There’s also a chart for all the various Mutations that the Outcasts can uh…”suffer” as well:

This is a great little side-grade for your Outcasts and opens up a whole hosts of modeling opportunities for your gang. Additionally, besides these Mutant rules, there’s also the actual scenario rules, too.

If you haven’t been keeping up with the Necromunda narrative, this battle takes place after “the great darkness” descended on Necromunda. The great darkness refers to when the Great Rift split the sky (and the warp spilled out into reality) and caused a massive blackout on the planet. There was a battle at a place called Dust Falls. This scenario recreates that massive throw-down between all manner of stranded gangers and the mutants and chaos cultists who sprung up to take advantage of the darkness.

In any case, you’ll be able to play as Mutant Outcasts now — and that’s what counts!

To me, my Mutants!
