In Expendables 4 the world is once again at risk of destruction. Only these iconic action stars and a big dose of profanity can save us.

Stallone and the Expendables are back after nearly a decade-long hiatus. They’re the world’s last line of defense, the team that gets called when there are no other options left. This time, the crew is trying to thwart WWIII–with some new members that bring new tactics to the fight.

Stallone was unhappy with the choice to court a wider audience with a PG-13 rating for Expendables 3. He told CraveOnline it “was a horrible miscalculation.” In a course correction, the fourth installment has earned an R rating from the MPA due to “strong/bloody violence throughout, language, and sexual material.”

Beyond meeting the level of violence for a restricted rating, the new movie looks like it fits the franchise. It’s another fun, bombastic, classic action-comedy. This one will make Statham fans happy–he looks to be at the center of this mission, and according to Stallone, he’s in 80% of the movie.

The Expendables 4 Cast & Details

The movie is directed by Scott Waugh (Hidden Strike) from a script written by Kurt Wimmer (Equilibrium), Tad Daggerhart (Black Lotus), and Max Adams (The Terminal List).

A new generation of stars join the world’s top action stars for an adrenaline-fueled adventure in Expend4bles. Reuniting as the team of elite mercenaries, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, and Sylvester Stallone are joined for the first time by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Jacob Scipio, Levy Tran, and Andy Garcia.

Armed with every weapon they can get their hands on and the skills to use them, The Expendables are the world’s last line of defense and the team that gets called when all other options are off the table. But new team members with new styles and tactics are going to give “new blood” a whole new meaning.

The Expendables 4 hits theaters on September 22nd.
