Space Marine 2 Extended Gameplay Trailer – For The Emperor
Okay, the years have been absolutely kind to Space Marine. And Space Marine 2 just makes it even better. The last time we saw Space Marine, the power armor looked a little something like this:
Which is already pretty good. But just look at what a difference a decade can make:
Of course it helps that Captain Titus has undergoen the Rubicon Primaris to become bigger and Space Marinier than ever before. Now instead of just looming over his human counterparts, he towers over them. Guess that extra wound makes all the difference. But we also learn that Captain Titus has a penance to accomplish.
However, his newfound Primaris statue gives him everything he needs to perform the proper penance. And we can see it in action as he mixes it up with swarms of Tyranids right out of the gate. He cleaves through scores of Gants and Gaunts and deals with a Warrior or two with chainsword and plasma pistol blazing.
The swarm combat looks as intensely satisfying as it did before. Especially since you’re dealing with enemies who want to mix it up in melee even more than the Orks, which is saying something. But it looks like the grim, bloody work of a chainsword and power armored boot will be doing the Emperor’s work in the first few minutes of the game at least. And with special dynamic counterattacks and executions, it’s absolutely visceral.
