Welcome to Night Vale, the podcast about the most normal town in the most normal part of the country, is getting an RPG from Renegade Games.

You are swimming distance from a shore you cannot see. If you choose the wrong direction, you will drown. If you do not make a decision, you will drown. Welcome to Night Vale.

Renegade Game Studios announced a new tabletop RPG during Gen Con, one that promises troubling adventures in the little desert town of Night Vale. That’s right, Welcome to Night Vale, your favorite podcast about a technically nonexistent desert town full of secret police, a City Council you wouldn’t want to cross, and a marine biologist with beautiful, perfect hair, is getting its own RPG.

The game is set to release in 2024. Though of course, owing to the strange flows of time, the RPG has probably already been released in Night Vale, though playing it may get you banned from the Library there. Not a price many would be willing to pay.

Welcome to Night Vale Gets a Roleplaying Game

Per the press release, the RPG will draw heavily on the vibes and lore of the podcast. Which is exactly what you’d expect. Sadly details about the game, like what system it might use, or what players will do is very sparse. But here’s a look at what Renegade had to say:

“Joseph and Jeffrey have created a fantastic world full of vibrant characters, mystery, and rich engaging stories. Roleplayers around the world have long been fans of the series and we’re excited to now allow them to have their own adventures in the world of Night Vale.”

That’s Renegade President Scott Gaeta, in the press release. Meanwhile, Night Vale co-creator Joseph Fink weighed in a little too:

“For over a decade, Jeffrey and I have been building the world of Night Vale with our podcast, touring live shows, and novels. Now we cannot wait for people to finally get to step into that world themselves, and start telling their own stories about a weird little desert town.”

While details about the game are all sparse, Carlos’ perfect hair is anything but.
