WotC gave us a sneak preview into the inner workings of Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse, revealing a world of high-level hijinks.

Sigil is the City of Doors, and some of them opened this past week as WotC showcased its upcoming campaign set, Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse. This new book is actually three, as the whole set follows the Spelljammer: Adventures in Space model. Players and DMs can expect to find three books: one detailing Sigil and the multiverse, one chock full of multiversal monsters, and a third that’s focused on an adventure.

We got a look at all three of these recently. And what may surprise many people is just how much ground the upcoming adventure will let you cover. As you’ll hit the lofty heights of 17th level before the end of it, owing to some planar hijinks.

Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse

First, let’s talk a little about the books. There’s Sigil and the Outlands, which is the overview of everything about the wild and wonderful world of Planescape. Equal parts campaign setting and gazetteer, this is a guide to the setting. You’ll find within a Sigil like never before. You’ll also get a good look at the Gate Cities.

Meanwhile Morte’s Planar Parade introduces a ton of new monsters, including the awesome new Time Dragon.

As well as the different influences Planar forces can have on existing monsters.

And of course, there’s the adventure: Turn of Fortune’s Wheel. This title references the infamous tavern in the Lady’s Ward in Sigil, where Shemeshka the Marauder holds court. It’s also a sprawling, plane-hopping adventure that will see players collecting Mimirs, which are floating heads full of knowledge, a lot like a certain Morte.

Over the course of the adventure, players might encounter alternate-universe versions of themselves, perhaps with different classes or abilities. As well as finding moments that accelerate players in power level, as the adventure takes place across the highest tier of play.

Get ready to head into the Multiverse.
