Find your Jedi robe and polish up your twin lightsabers, this week we’re joining, quitting, and rebuilding the Jedi with Ahsoka Tano.

Ahsoka Tano has gone from animated Star Wars fans’ favorite character to a live-action powerhouse. Introduced back in The Clone Wars as Anakin Skywalker‘s Padawan, Ahsoka grew from a sort of annoying kid to one of the most competent, interesting, and beloved characters in the galaxy. Currently, we’re in the middle of Ahsoka’s stand-alone and self-titled show, and we’re excited to see where the story goes from here. But in the meantime, let’s take the not-a-Jedi on another adventure when we play D&D with…

Ahsoka Tano

Ahsoka was honestly a very fun character to make for D&D. And with the inclusion of psionics, space- through Spelljammer– and the general fantasy-slash-heroes-journey theme of Star Wars, she’s not even all that out of place.

While Ahsoka is a pretty complex character, her core character can be broken down into a few key aspects. She’s strong in the force, was trained as a Jedi, and spent quite a bit of her life hiding from Order 66, the Empire, or working as a Rebel Spy. To make Ahsoka for a D&D setting, we’re going to want to combine the force with the sneakiest, most able-to-blend-into-the-shadows person you can imagine. So I went with a Psi Warrior Fighter and Scout Ranger duel class.

When it came to Ahsoka’s race, there were honestly a bunch of options that would have worked really well. And each would have added a little something to the character build. I eventually decided on Gith for the natural Psionic abilities. Between those natural abilities and her Psi-Warrior class, Ahsoka is one of the most psionic folks around. Which is necessary for a powerful and well-trained Force user.

This build gave us up to five feats to choose from, and while I forgot to write them on the sheet itself, I chose Alert, Arcanist, Mage Slayer, Mobile, and Sentinel for Ahsoka. Alert helps her stay on her toes and one step ahead of danger. Arcanist give a little more knowledge of the arcane. And where the force looks a lot like magic, Ahsoka should have at least a little arcane knowledge. Mage Slayer helps us defeat enemies utilizing the arcane–or Sith. Mobile makes her just a little more speedy and agile. And finally, Sentinel will give just a little bit more of Ahsoka’s edge in battle.

Some Jedi builds have a lot of magic. But for Ahsoka, I decided to lean into the Psionics and physical fighting relies less on the arcane. But she does have access to a few spells as a Gith. Jump, Mage Hand, and Misty Step are all pretty basic. But they will definitely mimic some of the Jedi telekinesis and high jumps.

How would you build Ahsoka for a D&D setting? What do you think will happen with the rest of the series? What movie, show, book, game, or comic should we make sheets from next time? let us know in the comments!

Happy adventuring!
