Marvel: Crisis Protocol – More Cool Characters That Need To Appear

Marvel Comics has so many awesome characters that would be a ton of fun to see on the tabletop. Here’s a few more we want!

This time around I’m going to try to avoid just listing all the X-Men characters I want to see. Instead I’m going to try and focus on some non-mutant options that would be great to add to MCP. There might be a mutant that sneaks in though…no promises. Anyhow, here’s a few more characters I’d like to see show up on the tabletop!

The Sentry

The Sentry is perhaps one of the most interesting character in Marvel — but not because of his powers or abilities, but rather because of the meta-story of how he came to be. You can read about it here. But it involves a fake history about his publication and “memory manipulation” to make everyone forget about him. It’s actually a really intriguing idea! Anyhow, he’s gone toe-to-toe with the Hulk, so while he’s definitely ridiculously OP, if the Hulk can be in MCP, then the Sentry can too!

The Void

You can’t really have The Sentry without The Void. Sometimes called Dark Sentry,The Void…complicated in a meta-narrative way. It’s the evil that’s also bonded to Robert Reynolds (the alter ego of The Sentry). Needless to say they are very intertwined and The Void is the reason that Sentry came up with a way to make everyone forget about him — all to prevent The Void from returning. Why? Because COMICS!

The Wrecking Crew

That might be the art from the Marvel: Champions Card Game but it just goes to show that Asmodee (by way of FFG) is already working with Marvel on these characters. Hopefully Atomic Mass Games (which is a part of Asmodee) can also get the option to bring them to the tabletop!

The group is comprised of four villains: The Wrecker, Thunderball, Piledriver, and Bulldozer. They’ve teamed up to be a problem for heroes like Thor and the Avengers for years. They’ve also battled with Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, and even the X-Men, too! They’ve been around and would be a fun mini-team/affiliation to see in Marvel: Crisis Protocol. If nothing else, they could give the Sinister Six some competition in the Villain Team-up department!

Hyperion (Earth-13034)

There’s a few Hyperions running around in Marvel Comics, but I want to focus on Marcus Milton, Hyperion of Earth-13034. Why? I’ll get to that in a moment. But really, Hyperion has always been a pastiche of DC’s Superman. That being said, he’s got powers comparable to Superman and it a tough cookie! This particular version of Hyperion ended up in Earth-616’s universe and even joined the Avengers for a bit. Why? Because COMICS! He went on to form another team and that’s why he’s on our list…

Squadron Supreme

If Hyperion is pastiche of DC’s Superman, then you can guess who the Squadron Supreme is supposed to be a pastiche of.  There’s also the alternate-evil version of them…but let’s focus on the good guys which include: Hyperion, Nighthawk, Blur, Doctor Spectrum, Thundra, and Warrior Woman. If nothing else, this is an entire affiliations worth of characters to add. And they have been known to fight to stop a crisis to two…
