What sort of a deal with the new Flesh-eater Courts Army Set be worth for players with some skin in the game?

We know that the Flesh-eater Courts are next on deck for a new Army Set box. We know the price point. And we know what’s inside. So what sort of a deal are we looking at and what’s the value of this new set? Let’s take a closer look and find out.

Quick note: all of these models are new and we don’t have exact pricing for individual kits. We’re go give an estimated price per kit just to get in the ballpark of the value of this boxed set.

Contents

1x  Abhorrant Gorewarden = $35

1x Varghulf Courtier = $50

3x Morbheg Knights = $60

20x Cryptguard = $50

Warscroll Cards and Tokens = $25

Total Estimated Individual Price = $310

Total Estimated Savings: $110

Now I’m sure folks are going to take issue with some of these price points but again: they are estimated. I also think they are in the right range give or take $5-$10. Sure, you could get Crypt Ghouls now for $45, but if you think the Cryptguard are going to come out the same price or cheaper, well…good luck. Same for the Varghulf Courtier. The current version is also $45. There’s no way that the new, plastic kit is going to be the same price. I’m also pretty confident that it’s not going to be less than $50 when it DOES get updated.

The Abhorrant Gorewarden is based on some of the pricing of other Characters in the AoS range and $35 seems around what it would cost. Same for the Morbheg Knights, although I could see them being more than $60, too. We also know that the Limited Edition Battletomes clock in at $90 and the Warscroll cards typically come in at $20-$35 depending on the size of the army.

It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that the Army Set is going to be a good deal for anyone looking to start the army. What might be a surprise is for anyone who already has the army as this set is full of entirely new miniatures. Plus you’ll get the updated warscroll cards AND the limited edition battletome. So, yes, this is a good deal for you as well.

I wouldn’t recommend getting two copies however. Unless you plan on selling the second Battletome and Warscroll cards to someone else. That could actually be a good way to recoup some of your costs if you just wanted a second set of the models. Or it could help fund your purchase of the Summerking when he comes out.

New players and old can really sink their teeth into this new Flesh-eaters Courts Army Set.
