The first trailer for Netflix’s live-action ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ series is here – and it’s as amazing as you hoped.

For those unfamiliar with Avatar: The Last Airbender, the animation show debuted on Nickelodeon in 2005. The show became a quick favorite for its complex characters and the masterful way it approached grown-up topics for a young audience. It has garnered numerous awards and boasts a fan base spanning all age groups.

Set in a war-ravaged Asiatic and Arctic realm, the story unfolds in a world where specific individuals possess the ability to manipulate or “bend” one of the four fundamental elements: water, earth, fire, or air. Aang, the “Avatar,” holds the unique power to bend all these elements. He is fated to restore peace to the world, particularly from the threat of the Fire Nation.

Accompanied by his allies Katara, Sokka, and Toph, Aang embarks on a journey to master each element. However, their quest is complicated by the pursuit of Zuko, the banished prince of the Fire Nation. He is determined to capture the Avatar to redeem his honor.

Netflix is giving the beloved universe another chance at live-action, this time without M. Night Shyamalan. The cast is filled with some fantastic actors that really embody their characters. Gordon Cormier, who plays Ang, had this to say about what fans new and old can expect.

And hopefully [it will] just bring a bunch of new fans who have never heard [of] the show before into this universe, and to me that’s pretty exciting. I’m a fan of the show personally, and I’m just excited for this as you guys are.”
