So the saying goes. But does it apply to severed heads? And what if they are arranged in a bouquet? It’s time for a new Rumor Engine!

Welcome to another Tuesday and a new Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. Today’s entry is pretty clear if a bit ghastly. But that’s okay — this isn’t our first rodeo when it comes to the gore-filled teasers. Heck, we just got our Flesh-eater Courts fix, amirite? Anyhow, on with the Rumor Engine!

“A trophy owned by a savage champion, or the latest statement piece in Warhammer fashion? We’ll leave it up to you to decide.”

Two Heads Are Better Than One

So, clearly we’ve got two severed heads and some various bones as well. The teaser text alludes to either a “Savage champion” or some type of “Warhammer Fashion” — although for the latter the would probably just be skulls if that was true. These remind me of trophies for sure and the question is who’s taking them. Maybe the victims can help shed some light on the subject.

But it turns out they aren’t too talkative.

What’s really throwing me off with this one is that the head on the right has pointy ears. Is that a bald Aelf or was that a vampire? And if that was a vampire, does this belong to a vampire hunter? And if that’s true, then does the other head belong to some other vampire or undead creature?!

I’m not entirely sure! Maybe these trophies belong to some Orruk or Kruleboy shaman. That could explain the bones. I do think these heads are more Age of Sigmar than Warhammer 40,000. But if they were 40k, that could open up even more options. Perhaps these belong to a Chaos champion! It’s been a while since we’ve seen of those those get teased.

Hey, Khorne followers do love to take heads as they are precursors to skulls! In any case, I’m not ruling anything out just yet. Except maybe Tyranids…they’d consume this biomass and not waste it making a trophy afterall.

It’s not a Tyranid. That much is certain.

If you’ve got any theories let us know what this pair of heads could be in the comments!
