Warhammer 40K: ‘Darktide – The Traitor Curse’ Celebrates 1st Anniversary With Heresy

Nov 13 2023

Warhammer 40k: Darktide celebrates its 1st anniversary with a brand new zone, mission, talent update, and a healthy dose of heresy.

It just wouldn’t be Darktide if there weren’t a bit of heresy. Only this time, with a new, two-part update that hits in November and December, you’ll get to go to the Heresy, instead of having the Heresy inflicted upon you. The new Traitor Curse update for Warhammer 40K: Darktide celebrates a year of Darktide.

And what a year it’s been. It’s wild to think of how much different the game was at launch, compared to where it is now with the all-new, overhauled talent trees. That may well have turned the game’s trajectory around (alongside the high-difficulty new missions). But that work is still ongoing.

Not only does The Traitor Curse provide an all-new cinematic and a whole new zone to kill heretics in, but it also has a big update to the Veteran Challenge tree. Take a look!

Warhammer 40K: Darktide – The Traitor Curse Part 1

To celebrate the first anniversary of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, we have prepared a free, two-part update called The Traitor Curse bringing more content to the game. Part 1 will release during November, Part 2 will follow before the winter holidays.

The Traitor Curse Part 1 – Features:

    • New Cinematic: Learn about the motivations of the Moebian 6th and discover The Carnival, a new disreputable zone promising transgressive distractions and entertainment.
    • New Zone & Mission: Strike at the heart of the Moebian 6th operations and fend off hordes of enemies in Mercantile located in The Carnival.
    • Inspect Feature: Inspect player loadouts in The Mourningstar.
    • Update to Veteran Talent Tree: Enjoy many changes and tweaks made to the Veteran tree, including the addition of Keystones (due to these changes, Veterans will see their talent tree reset and players will have to re-assign talent points).

The Veteran Talent Tree in particular is getting some much-needed love. As Keystones get Patched in, you can see the impact they’ll  have on even veteran Veteran players. Which is why your talent points will be refunded, so you can go down the tree and create something anew.

Look for Part 2 of the Traitor Curse update “before the Winter Holidays”!
