It’s time to paint up a Flesh Eaters Varghulf in this week’s Hobby Highlight!

Today I am showing how to paint a Flesh Eater Courts Varghulf for Age of Sigmar.

The new and updated Varghulf from the Flesh-eater Courts army box is a gem of a model for Age of Sigmar. Long and lanky, with a distended, fang-filled maw, the twisted Varghulf is incredibly evocative. I went with a scheme that matches our studio Flesh Eater Courts army, which is pale, with dark fur and gory blood.

Varghulf Paint Scheme

The first models in this army were painted with the now-defunct Rotting Flesh. I tried the theoretical replacement, but it just didn’t do the job. In the end, the slightly fishy Deepkin Flesh ended up being what I needed. In addition, this army gets cooler black fur, highlighted up with Incubi Darkness. Previously I had used some model railway flowers of a nice pink and yellow variety, but they were both challenging to use and discontinued. To replace them, I used some brightly colored (same palette) Gamer Grass tufts. Now that is out of the way, let’s paint a Varghulf!
