Necromunda: New Ironhead Squat Prospector Champion Is Ready To (Cut) Rock
This might be the Squat/Genestealer Cult crossover “you never expected but totally makes sense” because it’s a Squat with a Mining Laser!
Games Workshop is previewing an upcoming new model for Necromunda. It’s an Ironhead Squat Prospector Champion with a Mining Laser and he’s ready to get to work. Will he be cutting rock or will he use this tool to carve up the enemy? Why not both!

Wielding the Mining Laser is just the first part of his kit. He’s also got a few other bits that help him get the job done. Here’s a closer look at that suit-mounted circular stone-saw and Photo-lumen:
He’s a stout miner ready to cut out whatever you need. And yes, that tool/weapon should look very familiar. It appears to be based on the same tech the Genestealer Cult uses for their Mining Lasers:
Obviously there’s some differences here. But it’s pretty clear they are in the same general family. And it makes sense as Squat tech and Imperial tech are both based on STCs. They might have diverged over time but the core is still similar.
Personally, I really love these connections. And it makes total sense as the GSC are essentially industrial workers before they kick off their uprising. They use lots of the same tools you’d expect other miners would use across the galaxy. Same with these Ironhead Squat Prospectors on Necromunda. It all fits!
