Anime Accessories to Honor Your Favorite Dead Character

Do you have a favorite anime character who’s not longer with us? How are you doing? Will some retail therapy help?

We’ve all got that favorite anime character who just isn’t there anymore. The writer sensed that they were getting too popular and took them from us forever. Unless you start the anime or manga from the beginning, that is. Sometimes you have to laugh about it and from time to time we all cry over a fictional character. But I think copying by buying lots of merch is the most fun.

There will be spoilers for various animes after this point, so proceed with caution if you’re not caught up on everything you care about.

1. Spike Spiegel Hoodie

We got through almost the entire series without any major losses, but Cowboy Bebop definitely ended up a bummer note for any fans of the main character. Luckily the live-action version didn’t make it far enough for us to have to watch it again- though I would have. I actually like live-action Cowboy Bebop well enough. But if you’re looking for a new hoodie, this one is just barely on this side of cosplay. It isn’t a costume technically, but it is heavily inspired by Spike’s iconic jacket.

2. Portugas D Aces’s Hat

This is one of those super famous anime deaths. If you know nothing about One Piece you know that Luffy wants to be king of the pirates and that Ace dies. It’s become a meme. But if you didn’t know it was coming, this would be a scene that kicked you right in the teeth. Everything leading up to it was so hopeful and made us believe that Luffy really was going to rescue his brother. And then… you know. But you can keep him alive in spirit with this instantly recognizable hat.

3. Eren Yeager Figure

We’re going a bit old-school on this one with a classic Eran figure. Remember the before times in Attack on Titan? I wouldn’t say they were happier- this was a show that started us at an eleven when it came to tragedy. But somehow it was better? This show was punishing until the end.

4. Rengoku’s Sword

Do you need a sword? What about the Flame Hashira’s sword? Rengoku was a character that we only got for a little bit in the Mugen Train movie, and it wasn’t enough. I could happily watch a stand-alone show just about the various hashira. But that doesn’t look likely, so maybe I’ll get a decorative sword or two for them instead.

5. Kento Nanami Figure

There wasn’t a single character death in Jujutsu Kaisen this season that I didn’t take a little personally. Now that it’s finally wrapped up for a bit, I’m bereft. I’ll accept sympathy in the form of this figure… or let’s be honest any other figure. It can live on my shelf next to chibi Nobara and we can all pretend that everybody is a-ok. And yeah, manga readers, I know it’s only going to get worse.

Oh hey! BoLS might make a little dolla-dolla if you decide to buy these items. We need that money to buy raw meat to feed to our carnivorous plant from outer space. If we don’t feed him, he’ll turn on us.
