Winter 2024’s anime lineup is here. But if you need a refresher or just can’t get enough, you can always pick up the manga!

The fall 2023 anime season is mercifully over and that means it’s time for a whole new set of winter 2024 anime are either here or right around the corner. Get ahead of some of this seasons new and returning titles by checking out he manga they’re based on.

1. Burn the Witch

This one is already out with a December 29th release date. But don’t fret if you’re worried you’re getting behind on this one, there was only one-off special episode. Will we be getting more Burn the Witch in the future? I hope so! This Bleach spin-off is very fun, even if you never quite got into Bleach.

2. Delicious in Dungeon

Unless I’m mistaken, this show will be on Netflix today. And it looks like a ton of fun in that weird “oh no, this is just my D&D party” sort of way. Sometimes a group of adventurers find themselves deep deep in a dungeon with no remaining food and they have to get creative. Surely there are at least a few edible monsters down there, and with any luck at least a few of them are delicious.

3. Urusei Yatsura

The last few years have seen the returns of quite a few nostalgic blasts from the past, and 2022’s Urusei Yatsura is definitely on that list. It returns with season two this month, but if you’re ready to jump into the source material the manga has been out there since 1978 with 34 volumes of content to catch up on.

4. Blue Exorcist

Anime anime returning this season is Blue Exorcist. Hot-tempered Rin and his classmates are learning how to defeat the powers of darkness… And maybe learn who Rin’s dad is along the way. It’s one of those quintessential anime plot hooks. But with 29 volumes and counting, the plot and characters really take off. Season three premiers on January 7th.

5. The Witch and the Beast

In the near-past of an alternate version of our own world supernatural creatures live alongside humans, so sometimes there are supernatural problems to solve. Like hunting down witches who prey on the fear of humans. The art and styling are very pretty, and despite seeing different versions of this same general idea before, I want to know how this world works and what their supernatural cohabitation looks like. Luckily there is a whole bunch of manga to get caught up on.

Oh hey! BoLS might make a little dolla-dolla if you decide to buy these items. We need that money to buy raw meat to feed to our carnivorous plant from outer space. If we don’t feed him, he’ll turn on us. (You may totally use this, but in a regular article, make up your own funny affiliate disclaimer).
