Atomic Mass Games has shown off the new cards from their latest Rivals Panel. Let’s scope out King T’Challa and Killmonger, Usurper!

I’m a big fan of the new Rival Panels: Battle For The Throne for Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Today we’re taking a closer look at the two new versions of the characters included within that set. It’s Black Panther as King T’Challa squaring off against Killmonger, Usurper.

King T’Challa

Not only do you get a new miniature for Black Panther, you also get the alternate version of the character card, too.

Now, if you’re unfamiliar with how MCP handles alternate versions, each character has their Alter Ego as part of their card. You can’t use a duplicate Alter Ego when you’re putting your squads together. There can only be one T’Challa in your squad at a time.

This version of T’Challa is different from his other version. Most of his powers and abilities are completely different. What’s great about this version is that means with a quick swap of a King T’Challa your Wakanda faction can play very differently.

This version does cost 5 threat and he can certainly hit like it! King T’Challa is fast and deadly and his leadership ability really makes terrain even more deadly.

Killmonger, Usurper

Not to be out done, Killmonger also has a new version. While his powers and abilities are different he’s a bit closer to his previous version compared to T’Challa.  However, he does now have the Leadership ability for the Wakanda Affiliation. This makes his a really great side-grade option if you’re wanting to try out some new playstyles with Wakandan characters.

Killmonger is still a pretty brutal fighter and his damage can really ramp-up based on how much damage he’s taken himself. K’Liluna’s Fury in particular is one attack to watchout for!

As a Threat 4 character he’s going to have to do some serious work on the tabletop to make it worth taking. But I think Killmonger, Usurper is a great alternate option to take. He’s got a lot of ways to snip the enemy’s defense and can really help his team out with those Herb tokens. Killmonger might just surprise folks!

Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Rival Panels: Battle for the Throne $99.99

The throne of Wakanda is on the line in the latest Rival Panels pack for Marvel: Crisis Protocol! New versions of T’Challa and Killmonger battle for the throne on a beautifully sculpted waterfall terrain piece that can be customized with 4 optional plant pieces. In addition to the miniatures for both characters, players will also find holographic foil stat cards outlining all of their abilities in this pack, along with 4 new Team Tactic cards that further augment their abilities.

Both of these characters, their cards, and that sweet terrain is up for Pre-order now from Atomic Mass Games.
