A lot is going down in the City of Guilds, and a quick visit to MTG’s Ravnica Remastered could yield some incredible treasures for your deck.

Ravnica: City of Guilds was one of my favorite MTG sets back in the day. I loved the idea of the sometimes antagonistic guilds working in basic harmony to keep the city afloat. Sure, there were always individuals who wanted to upset the status quo, but for the most part, the Guildpact the Paruns wrote kept the guilds in check.

That said, you can imagine how jazzed I am for both Murders at Karlov Manor and Ravnica Remastered. The latter, especially is going to be big for the game, since it brings back a bunch of powerful cards from all our visits to the city. While some of the powerful heroes are missing (RIP Sisters of Stone Death) a lot of really great pieces are making their way back to the game. While the biggest draws are the reprinted dual lands, there are a few cards you’ll want to keep an eye out for. If nothing else, their single price should go down.

Cyclonic Rift

One of the powerest power cards out there, Cyclonic Rift has been sought after for ages. For the low low price of seven mana, you can sweep the board clear of blockers and stax, leaving you free to deal the lethal blow to your opponent. It has been priced to match for ages, but now it’s finally back in rotation. Not only that, it’s returning with a gorgeous Anime treatment. I love the look of this new magic tornado, complete with flying cow.

Domri Rade

The perfect planeswalker for an aggro deck, Domri Rade is Gruul at its purest form. He lets you dig for creatures, turn your creatures into bullets, or grab a nasty emblem to super-stomp all your critters. In Red and Green, an emblem that empowers all your creatures is an Urzasend, so he’s definitely one to grab. Once again, he’s received an incredible Anime reprint, and his new art perfectly captures his wrathful, chaotic energy. Not sure if that boar at his feet is meant to be Illharg, but either way, it doesn’t seem to be having a good time.

Mizzix’s Mastery

Another overload card, Mizzix’s Mastery is a finisher if I’ve ever seen one. While it can easily be used to dig out a quick fix, if you can work up to eight mana (not a big ask in Red), you can unleash a torrent of deadly spells to take out your opponents. If that isn’t good enough, it will drive your storm count through the roof, sitting you up for a world of other combos.

Which card is your favorite?
