Baldur’s Gate 3 Hotfix 20 brings some much-needed fixes, making everyone’s favorite wayward Drow Paladin a lot less wayward.

Baldur’s Gate 3, Patch 6 may have brought better, hotter kisses to the game. But it also broke a whole lot of things when it came crashing in. Larian Studios has been steadily fixing things since then. For instance, a new way was added to recruit the Drow Paladin, Minthara, without having to commit firmly to evil in Act 1, at least.

But the Patch also made her much buggier, for whatever reason. With spoilerriffic dialogue and a tendency to stop following the party in Act 2 and Act 3, the Drow seemed to be having difficulty keeping up. That’s less true now, as Hotfix 20 implements a number of corrections, including making Minthara keep up a little better.

Minthara aside, the new patch addresses a number of other issues, including a bug that would make party members tell you that they were too busy to talk when clearly they weren’t. This is sure to be a relief for players who have started another playthrough to get some of those sweet new smooches because now you won’t be prevented from moving the plot forward.

And sure, there are still a few bugs and broken bits here and there to deal with. Notably, a quest in Act 1 related to the Druid Halsin and recruiting Minthara can still softlock you out of progressing the Grove questline forward if you do things out of a very particular order. Buuut, Larian Studios has said that it is still hard at work. So it’s just a matter of time.

In the meantime, here’s a quick overview of everything fixed in the new patch:

  • Introduced a few crash safeguards to ensure that when a savegame fails to load, you’ll be sent back to the Main Menu.
  • Fixed some issues causing the second player on split screen to have a black screen for 30 seconds.
  • Fixed a bug preventing you from opening containers (like the Camp Supply Sack) while trading if you selected a different character from the one who initiated the trade. This also fixed a sneaky money exploit.
  • Fixed a bug causing the environment to never take its turn, blocking combat from progressing.
  • Fixed a bug causing you to get stuck in combat if there were still some bats remaining after you defeated Cazador.
  • Fixed an infinite loot bug that would duplicate Herdmaster Skardjall’s Scale Mail every time you removed the Whipping Cane from his body.
  • Fixed a bug causing the crime dialogue for trespassing to get spammed beside the Steel Watch Foundry.
  • Fixed some banding and shader issues in cinematics that were causing VFX artefacts on faces at certain angles.
  • Fixed Minthara sometimes not following the party in Act II or Act III.
  • Fixed a case where Halsin wouldn’t move to his position when you arrived at Last Light in Act II.
  • Fixed an issue where Minthara wouldn’t leave the party after being escorted out of Moonrise Towers.
  • Fixed an issue causing characters to tell you they were too busy to talk to you when you tried to speak to them. They were lying.
  • Fixed missing tab textures in the Trade UI.
  • Hid the filter tabs for traders when bartering with them, these will be reintroduced in a future update pending further testing.
  • Fixed a potential crash when preloading complex cinematics.

Now gather your party before venturing forth.
