Birds may not be real in our world, but they are in the world of Everden, which you can explore in Humblewood, now available on D&D Beyond.

Humblewood splashed onto the scene back in 2019 going into 2020, which is a time best left in the foggy haze of memory. It’s a campaign setting full of animal folk, but especially birds, a fine tradition in D&D, going all the way back to the original hard-to-spell Aarakocraand much easier to spell Kenku. It was a hit on Kickstarter when it was originally released, and sprawled well beyond the humble campaign setting.

Since then, they’ve had comics, tales, and currently Humblewood 2 is in the works. And today, WotC announced that Humblewood is now available on D&D Beyond.

This marks yet another 3rd-party setting from a non-WotC publisher that has made its way to the D&D Beyond marketplace. And this is exciting, as more folks will be exposed to the game.

But it’s also worth pointing out that at this time last year if the community hadn’t rallied and stepped up to demand that WotC reverse their course on a decision to deauthorize the OGL and to start charging a sizable royalty for publishers who made a certain revenue point, this would be a much more oppressive announcement. The folks at D&D want their walled garden, but, the community has kept it open.

And it’s worth remembering, as the last few months have been full of 3rd party books coming to D&D Beyond, including Dungeons of Drakkenheim, Tal’Dorei Campaign Setting Reborn, and of course, Humblewood.

Humblewood comes to D&D Beyond

In the world of Everden, nestled between the mighty Crest mountain range and the vast marshes of the Mokk Fields, lies a mystical forest known as Humblewood that hums with the Great Rhythm of nature. Now the fires have come, and the Woods have been thrown into chaos. Even in these dark times, brave heroes can be found within the Wood. Will you answer the call?
