It’s been a long time coming but Bishop and Nightcrawler are BAMFing into Marvel: Crisis Protocol!

These two characters might not be First Class members but they are pretty iconic when it comes to the X-Men. Any X-Men team without Nightcrawler is just less fun. While Bishop is from one of the greatest X-Men story arcs ever. Seeing these two join the game brings the nostalgia right out for me and I’m excited to get to get a closer look at them both! How? Atomic Mass Games sent us a preview and I’m unboxing it for all to see!

Bishop & Nightcrawler *BAMFing* In

The first thing you’ll notice about this box is that it’s a little different in style than the previous Character Packs for Marvel: Crisis Protocol. This is a minor change with the re-launch of the new Core Set. Not a huge deal but worth noting. Aside from that everything is packed in plastic bags as we’ve come to expect from Atomic Mass Games.

You’ve got the sprues and the cards in two seperate bags — likely so the cards don’t get dinged up. Also the cards do come in four different languages in case you were wondering.

You get three new team tactic cards and a special attack card featuring Gambit and Bishop. You also get the character cards that are front/back for the healthy and injured states of the characters:

Nightcrawler’s cards are interesting because you can see the different names he has from the different regions/languages. He might be “The Incredible Nightcrawler” in the Munich circus but apparently the French call him “Diablo” so there’s that. At least they kept the *BAMF* in!

Bishop also has his ticks, too. Still packing that time-displaced XSE Blaster and his ability to absorb and redirect energy. Personally, I’ve been a fan of Bishop since he showed up in the 90’s X-Men cartoon. I loved that story arc!

As far as the sprues themselves they are straightforward. Each character takes up their respective half and I love that Atomic Mass Games has a few different options for Nightcrawler in particular. You can have the BAMF or not. You can also build him with or without the sabers. I like that you could dual-wield them if you want or just go with one. Also, Bishop has the head option of with or without that sweet, sweet time-displaced mullet.

If you want to get your hands on this set you’ll have to wait until March 1, 2024. But you can pre-order it along with a few more X-Men right now from Asmodee’s webstore.

Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Bishop & Nightcrawler $39.99

Two iconic mutants join Marvel: Crisis Protocol in this new pack! With his mutant ability to teleport, Nightcrawler is able to land a decisive blow or help get his teammates out of the line of fire at the perfect moment. He is joined by Bishop, who wields advanced weaponry and his mutant ability to absorb and redirect energy in tandem. Together, they enhance any team, but especially the Uncanny X-Men and X-Force affiliations with their abilities and 3 Team Tactic cards.

The teleporting Nightcrawler and time-travelling Bishop are coming in March!
