Games Workshop has re-released the White Dwarf classic mini-game of jousting in Warhammer with a free download. Grab the Full Tilt rules now!

Warhammer fans of a certain vintage may remember this mini-game from White Dwarf 215. Full Tilt was created by Nigel Stillman and it was essentially a way to recreate Jousting Tournaments in Warhammer. Teams of Knights would battle it out to determine who was the best and now you can to!

“Earlier this year, Warhammer World Events Manager Steve, a veteran knight himself, wrote a new version of the game to celebrate the release of Warhammer: The Old World. Attendees at the game’s launch event at Warhammer World in January formed teams and jousted all day, with much merriment had by all!

And so it is that we present this brand new edition of Full Tilt, which you can download and play yourself. All you’ll need is a deck of playing cards and three Bretonnian Knight miniatures per side, and away you go!”

Ready For Jousting

The mini-game is simple enough but you’ll need to gather some common components to play. Aside from three Knights per player, you’re also going to need a standard deck of playing cards as well as some d6s. The cards are used for determining your Knightly Virtues as well as used later for choosing which Jousting Ploy you’re using.

The scoring is simple: Win the most jousts to win the match. But that’s easier said than done! For the most part, Knights hit and wound on 4+ and have a 4+ armor save. But the Knightly Virtues and Jousting Ploys can have an impact on those odds. And don’t forget about those re-rolls. The winner needs to be both skilled and a *little* lucky!

There’s more to the mini-game but at the end of the day it’s a fun jousting time. If you’ve got the miniatures and want to give this a go download the rules and go Full Tilt!

You can really go all-out with the setting here so have fun with this one!
