With the release of Pathfinder: Monster Core, Paizo gives you even more of the “remastered” 2nd Edition goodness, including eight new dragons!

The Monster Core for Pathfinder 2nd Edition is out today. And with it comes another major step away from the OGL of yore, as Paizo carves out new territory for the “remastered” Pathfinder 2nd Edition. And what a new territory they carve. The book is hefty, featuring more than 400 individual monsters. You’ll get everything from the humblest best lurking in an innkeeper’s basement, to mythological foes like the Grim Reaper.

But what really makes the book stand out are the new dragons that will soon be populating the dungeons of Golarion. Because, if you’ll recall, the Pathfinder Remaster Project was a concerted effort to move away from the OGL content. It’s why Wizard schools are now actual schools instead of Divination, Conjuration, etc.

And it’s why Pathfinder’s new dragons step away from the Chromatic/Metallic/Gem paradigm established by D&D (though all the colors and metals of those dragons still exist in Golarion, just with some updated lore changes). The Monster Core features brand new dragons. Including the Fortune Dragon, Mirage Dragon, and the new cover dragon, the Admantine Dragon, all of which you can take for a spin today.
