Games Workshop might have spilt the beans on the latest Rumor Engine. Although I doubt this is a new Space Marine Aircraft.

Normally when we get a new Rumor Engine on Tuesday GW is pretty sneaky and/or vague about what it could be. Today is a little different. They kinda tell us what his one is — just read the text this time around.

“Some of the best Rumour Engine images are those that could be any number of weird and wonderful things, and today’s is right up that particular alley of possibility. Sure, it may look like a staff used by psykers or wizardly types, but it could just as easily be a new kind of Space Marine aircraft, or a strange rod-shaped daemon from the deepest pits of the Eightpoints. You never know.”

Again, it’s pretty spelled out in the text. If you cut out the somewhat silly suggestions that it’s an aircraft or rod-shaped daemon, the text tells us it’s a “staff used by a psyker or wizardly” type. And yeah, now that they put that idea in my head I can’t unsee it.

I don’t know if it’s a wizard staff from the Mortal Realms, The Old World, or a psyker’s from the Grimdark however. I’m also not 100% sure it’s a wizard’s staff now that I think about it. But what if it’s not magic or psyker related at all? What about something like the Biophagus

He’s neither a wizard or a psyker. There are also standard or icon bearers running around holding similar objects, too. Like the Acolyte Iconward.

Units like the Acolyte Iconward exist. And this icon also has little charms and vials hanging off of it, too. Actually… this has a lot of similarities now that I look at them.

I’m not saying this is for sure an Iconward for the Genestealer Cults. But I’m also not ruling that out. Especially not now. But that’s just my theory and if you’ve got any of your own drop us a line in the comments. We’d love to see them!

Did we just accidentally solve this Rumor Engine? Guess we’ll have to wait till Ascension Day to find out.
