Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Avengers and Cabal Affiliation Packs Unboxed
It’s time for some classic characters in new packaging. Say hello to the new Affiliation Packs for the Avengers and the Cabal!
When Atomic Mass Games introduced the new Earth’s Mightiest Core Set they updated the set with all new versions of the classic heroes and villains in the old Core Set. But those other versions of the characters aren’t invalidated. Eventually the old Core Set will be retired and so folks were wondering where they’d get those versions of the characters.
That’s where AMG stepped in and announced new Avengers and Cabal Affiliations Packs. These are the most of the same characters from the first core set reboxed into new packs. The minis are the same but the cards are the most current versions — like the ones you’d find on their download page. If you never picked up the first core set and were wanting these characters, now you can get them.
Atomic Mass Games sent us some review copies and I’m here to take you through their contents. Again, these shouldn’t be a shock to anyone — but now you’ll exactly what you’re getting.
Avengers Assemble!
In the Avengers Affiliation Box you’ll get four characters and all the cards you need to play them. Included this time around are Black Widow, Captain America, Captain Marvel, and Iron Man. They are packaged in the same plastic baggies we’ve come to expect from AMG.
Naturally, you’ll get four of the correct sized bases you’ll need for them, too. These are virtually identical to the old Core Set sprues with the same poses and everything. These miniatures are here to stay!
As far as the cards go, you’ll get three team tactics cards and all four of the character cards to use them in your games. Additionally, these are all playsets in the four different languages supported in the box.
Dominate With The Cabal
The Cabal Affiliation Pack also has four characters included: Baron Zemo, Crossbones, Red Skull, and Ultron. Again, these are the same sculpts from before.
You’ll get all the needed sprues and bits to assemble these evil doers. Personally, I’ve always liked Ultron’s mini from this set but Red Skull also has that rather sinister pose with the Cosmic Cube. They might not be quite as “animated” as the newer sculpts, but they still get the job done!
The cards are also updated with the current rules and format — like the Avengers cards. You’ll also get their three Team Tactics Cards, too. So if you missed them the first time around, you’ve got a way to snag them with the new cards in four languages, too!
Now, you might be wondering where Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus are since they were in the OG Core Set but aren’t included in these two packs. You can get the same Spider-Man in the Web Warriors Affiliation Pack. Doctor Octopus is coming shortly with new Spider Foes Affiliation Pack. They also have alternate versions in the Earth’s Mightiest Core Set, too.

Players can begin assembling their team of earth’s mightiest heroes with this new Affiliation Pack! The Avengers Affiliation Pack repackages the Avengers-affiliated characters found in the original Marvel: Crisis Protocol Core Set, including Captain America, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, and Iron Man in one accessible box. Players looking to get into the game or expand their Avengers roster will find the miniatures and Stat Cards for these characters along with copies of the Avengers Assemble, Ricochet Blast, and Second Wind Team Tactic Cards featuring new art, giving them everything they need to form a battle-ready Squad straight out of the box.
Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Cabal Affiliation Pack $59.99
Players can begin gathering their own Cabal in this new Affiliation Pack for Marvel: Crisis Protocol. The Cabal Affiliation Pack repackages the Cabal-affiliated characters from the original Marvel: Crisis Protocol Core Set, including Red Skull, Crossbones, Baron Zemo, and Ultron in one accessible box. Players looking to get into the game or expand their Cabal roster will find the miniatures and Stat Cards for these characters along with the Cosmic Invigoration, Dark Reign, and The Age of Ultron Team Tactic Cards from the original Core Set featuring new art, giving them the foundation for their Cabal squads.
I guess I need to assemble some Avengers now…
