The new Codex: Orks has 6 new Detachments and a plethora of new Enhancements coming to 40K 10th Edition.  Here’s the best of the best.

The new Codex: Orks has 6 new detachments and a plethora of new Enhancements.  Now not all of them are amazing but almost all of them seem usable in some form.  Let’s dig into the top 5 ones I see headed to the tabletop in 40K 10th Edition.

5. Dread Mob – Press it Fasta!

Besides having an exclamation point it seems like this upgrade is pretty powerful.  A Mek unit can take this and it gives the unit they are joined to the ability to roll twice on Try Dat Button! Rule with the ability to get both rolls if you roll 2 different ones.  This can get you a unit of Lootas to have Sustain Hits, Lethal Hits, and improve the Ap value of a weapon.  All of these can be good and if you stack both options it feels pretty spicy.

4. War Horde – Follow Me Ladz

An Ork model can have this one and it gives the unit they are leading a +2 to their Movement characteristic.  This can get you closer and ready to Krump the enemy with your damage output.  It also could let you have some seriously fast Squighog Boyz as well.

3. Da Big Hunt – Proper Killy

This gives a Beast Snagga model an extra pip of damage on all melee weapons equipped by the bearer.  It appears there is nothing saying it doesn’t go to the mount they are on so this could make for a very murderous Squigosaur Beastboss that is ready to pounce on you.  Anything that amps up your damage is a threat to an army.

2. Kult of Speed – Fasta Than Youz

This is a combo piece for your Infantry Ork and it allows the unit they are joined to the ability to assault after coming out of a vehicle that moved.  This could let you bring a squad of Meganobz out of a trukk very close to the enemy or just let your Nobz hit very hard.  This seems like one of those things that could be a major part of a Pressure Ork list that is moving around the table and wrecking things.

1. Green Tide – Raucous Warcaller

The most obvious combo piece for an army – this lets the unit that is lead by an Ork with this enhancement always count as 10+ models for any abilities.  This combos with Stratagems, the army rule, and just allow for a really rough to deal with unit of Meganobz.  Throw this on a Big Mek in Mega Armor and you got a unit that will reroll 2+ reg armor saves, have a 4+ invulnerable save for ranged, and just be a pain in the butt when they get into the Waaggh zone.

Happy gaming, and of course… WAAAGH!
