This massive LEGO Kaer Morhen from The Witcher includes thousands of pieces and tons of fun details.

The ancient and crumbling castle of Kaer Morhen serves as the home base for the Witchers of the School of the Wolf in the Witcher series. It is as close to home as many of the main characters have and where Geralt of Rivia, Ciri, and many others trained. The castle was once a more prosperous and bustling place, but a pogrom launched against the Witchers resulted in its ruin and reduced state.

Kaer Morhen is more than just a bit of background lore. It’s a pivotal location in the Witcher books, games, and shows. Key events take place there, and love trysts and battles are equally common. The crumbling ruin is a site of great danger and sorrow, but it can also be a home full of joy and laughter. It’s a complex place for a complex story.

And now it’s been built in plastic bricks – take a look at this LEGO MOC set in the wolrd of The Witcher.

The Witcher’s Kaer Morhen in LEGO

The entire complex of Kaer Morhen has been brought to LEGO life by the talented Rampart87. This impressive MOC is comprised of over 80,000 pieces and weighs over 100 lbs. Just lifting it could count as Witcher training! The creator doesn’t list the build dimensions, but it’s clearly able to be measured in feet not just inches. This is an absolutely impressive build that brings the iconic castle to life.

The scale of this build is really great. I also love just how ruined and run down it is and how it blends into the natural scenery. The distinct courtyards give me flashbacks to fighting through them at the very start of The Witcher 1. You’ve also got some nods to the lake and other nearby locations.

What really makes the whole MOC is the lavish attention to detail that’s gone into the build. There are a ton of great little scenes built into the castle, such as Yennefer dealing with a certain mattress. I also just love the details on the walls and stonework of the castle. The builder has done a ton to make it super interesting and avoid just blank walls.

Here are a couple of my favorite details on the set.

Adventure in Your Own Epic LEGO Castle

Want to bring another epic fantasy franchise to life? Try your hand at the Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale set. This amazing build gives you your own ruined keep and tavern for epic adventures. It’s also full of monsters to hunt worthy of a Witcher. It’s a fun kit and looks great.

The set features a dungeon and a tower for the giant Cinderhowl red dragon to perch on. There’s also a tavern with a removable roof, so you can see inside to the upper level. Plus, six LEGO minifigures (some with multiple head options) and brick-built classic D&D monsters – a beholder, an owlbear, a displacer beast, and a gelatinous cube.
