Scourge of Ghyran Soulblight Gravelords Battle Formations
With two different battle formations, the Soulblight Gravelords have new options. The first is Cryptmasters which opens up the Unhallowed Site ability. This allows you to grant a Curse Sepulchre a 4+ ward until the start of your next turn. It’s a great way to turn those pesky terrain features into more of an annoyance.
The other option is Skinshifters which allows your Infantray Vampire Hero the ability of The Speed of Death. This lets them move 12″ and have fly as a keyword while doing so. It’s a nice way to zip around the tabletop.
Scourge of Ghyran Soulblight Gravelords Heroic Traits
” Immortal Ego gives your chosen hero the skills to match their towering arrogance, while Frightening Vitality ensures they’ll stay standing long after they should be dead. Then there’s a Wastrel and a Vagabond, which doesn’t make an undead hero any better… it just makes their minions dangerously faster.”

Honestly, I am going back and forth between Immortal Ego and Frightening Vitality. Both seem potent. I think it’s going to come down to your play style in the end. If you want your character to be a regenerating degenerate Frightening Vitality fits that bill. However, if you want a Hero that is more well-rounded, Immortal Ego seems like the better call. Extra re-rolls in the different phases can really stack up!
Scourge of Ghyran Soulblight Gravelords Warscrolls
There are two warscrolls to cover with this update. First up is Sekhar. She’s back and still working for Neferata. Her new ability Allow Me To Remind You… can actually shut down commands on a 5+. And the best/worst part is that the opponent still has to spend (and lose) the command point!
Lest You Forget…is another nasty ability. It can cause a re-roll on a charge or casting roll. Did they get that much needed 6? Force the re-roll and see if they get it again!
The other alternate warscroll is for the Corpse Cart. Not only is the cart a bit more sturdy than before but it also makes Deadwalker Zombies more deadly and faster! Not a good combination for your enemies.
As always, we’ve got alternate warscrolls with alternate points. These are legal for Matched Play but remember that you can’t mix-and-match them with their counterparts. That mostly applies to the Corpse Cart as Sekhar is unique.
So what do you think of these new Soulblight Gravelord rules from Ghyran? Do these vampires have a bite to them — or do they suck?
