Age of Sigmar: Scrouge of Ghyran Blade of Khorne Rules Update

The Blades of Khorne are heading to the Realm of Life. They are ready to make the blood flow in Age of Sigmar!
It’s about to get bloody in the lands of Ghyran because the Blades of Khorne are marching to war. Today we’ve got two new battle formations, three new prayers, and two more warscroll updates to go over. Will there be blood and skulls once this battle is over or will these Blades of Khorne get dulled? Let’s find out!
“Drench yourself in the blood of your foes, claim their skulls, pay your tribute to Khorne’s throne and revel in the madness. But read this post about the Blades of Khorne before you do any of that. “

Scourge of Ghyran – Blades of Khorne Battle Formations
First up we have the two battle formations. The first is Tournament of Skulls which sounds both ominous and metal. This grants the Blades of Khorne the Bloody Competitors ability once per turn on your hero phase. You’ll need to have both a non-hero Bloodbound and a non-hero Blodes of Khorne Daemon unit within 12″ of each other. But if you do, BOTH will get +1 to their wound rolls!
The second formation is The Goretide. I’m pretty sure that name has been used before…Anyhow, it brings with it the Tide of Savagery. This ability is used during your movement phase and it adds 2″ to the movement characteristic for up to 2 units.
Scourge of Ghyran – Blades of Khorne Prayers
As far as prayers go Khorne may listen to his priests…but you might not like his reply. And if he does hear these prayers, the enemy surely won’t like how he grants them!
” …these Gifts for the Blood God are all chanted on a 3+, but they become more powerful when cast on an 8 – Khorne’s sacred number. Goreflesh ignores damage inflicted on a unit, while Runes of Loathing gives your unit an impressive ward save against enemy spells, prayers and even manifestations. Lastly, Gift of Apoplexy enrages your opponent’s units so much that they start hitting each other if they use an ability that isn’t Move, Charge or Fight.”
Personally, I really like the Gift of Apoplexy. It’s going to force the enemy units that don’t want to move to do so. That’s one way to really muck up the enemy battle plans. Take that, gunlines!
Scourge of Ghyran – Blades of Khorne Warscrolls
Finally we have the two warscrolls to cover. The Mightly Lord of Khorne is getting an alternate option. He’s got a new Axe that’s pretty potent. On top of that, he’s got an ability that will allow him to command an friendly unit to charge. Seems normal until you realize that it’s during the Enemy’s fight phase. Surprise!
The Bloodcrushers are also back with an alternative warscroll. This one really just grants them the Brass Stampede. It’s kind of a dirty trick to bypass a front line unit and essentially get a second charge to the backline. It only goes off on a 3+ but it can be used once per turn in any charge phase — if they charged that turn!
Again, these new warscrolls are legal for Match Play. So feel free to bust them out with the points below.
I wonder if the Blades of Khorne are going to make the cut with these new alternate rules…
