Horror Games To Play Until Summerween

Are you the “Halloween all year ’round?” person in your group? These horror games may get you through a spookieless summer
Sinners has been one of the most talked about horror movies in a minute, and it’s making me long for a spookier and less warm time of year. According to Gravity Falls, Summerween is coming up in June. But there’s no reason not to start celebrating now. So if Sinners has you on a horror kick like it does me, or you’re just always looking for an excuse to break out a creepy game or two, these may be the right picks for your next game night.
Call of Cthulhu

If you’re looking for a horror game to play and maybe even get a little creeped out by, Call of Cthulhu is a classic for a reason. Players take on the role of investigators, looking into the strange, the sinister, and the uncanny. Often uncovering something truly terrifying and otherworldly, and sometimes taking damage to their psyche because of how horrible and weird it all is.
Brindlewood Bay
Ok sure, you want an uncanny horror mystery. But is it too much to ask for your cosmic horrors to also be cozy and cute?! No, it’s not! Brindlewood Bay mixes a little Murder, She Wrote with a little Lovecraft for a vibe that’s truly one of a kind. The game is easy to setup and play, making it accessible and fun to new and seasoned players alike. And it has that kitschy and silly yet compelling story and game style that will appeal to a surprisingly large number of people.
Mansions of Madness

In Mansions of Madness, players explore the haunted corridors of a mansion, trying to uncover the horrors that haunt the town. The game is fully cooperative with an immersive companion app guiding the way. Players walk through spooky scenarios, uncovering the story as they play through one of four campaigns. If you’ve been around for a minute, you may know that I love Betrayal at the House on the Hill. Mansions of Madness is both similar and different, but I have a feeling if you like Betrayal, you’ll enjoy exploring some Mansions, too.
Vaesen
Vaesen is a game that invites you to explore the cold, dark wilderness of the Nordic forests. Only, in Vaesen the monsters living in the forest are definitely real. The world of 1800 is quickly growing and evolving, but that doesn’t change what the people in these small villages know. Some of what goes bump in the night isn’t just in your mind, it’s out there. But you’ll need to go find out which myths are real for yourself.
Murder Mystery Party: The Night Hunter

If I invite you to a murder mystery party, you’re probably politely coming up with an excuse to not be there, right? But what if I told you it’s a cooperative campaign-style board game? Suddenly more interested, right? The Night Hunter is just that and comes with everything you need to solve a murder mystery in four sessions. It can be played and solved solo or with a group, and if you get stuck there are hints (and solutions) online. But you’ll want to solve the mystery before the killer strikes again!
