Star Wars: Legion – B2 Super Battle Droids Unboxed

The new B2 Super Battle Droids are in the house, and we’re taking a look inside their box. The Separatists are getting some serious firepower!
When the Separatist Army was first introduced in the Star Wars movies, I wasn’t really impressed. The battle droids were basically comic relief and not much of a threat. The Jedi were cutting them down like wheat. Sure, the Droidekas were scary, but that was really it. Then, the B2 Super Battle Droids were introduced to the world.
These new droids were actually intimidating. Were they a match for the Jedi? Eh…few things are. At least they put up a much better fight than the previous droids did. I did like the direction the Separatists were going with their army. Anyhow, Atomic Mass Games sent me a new box of the B2 Super Battle Droids, and now we’re going to dive into it and see what they are packing!
The new Star Wars: Legion boxes do look good. I like the redesigned package and formatting quite a bit.

In the box we’ve got basically the same thing you’d expect from Atomic Mass Games products at this point. All the cards are in one bag. The Sprues are in a separate bag. And then the bases are also in a different bag, too. There’s the insert with the QR code to build this miniatures as well as all the credits.
As far as the cards go, we’ve got four sets for the four different supported languages inside the bag:
Above, I’ve laid out the English versions. There’s also the tokens included, too. If you’re looking for more of a deep-dive into this unit’s rules and cards I already covered that. The squad starts at three miniatures but you can expand it quite a bit. There’s also the HQ uplink card included which is extremely handy for this unit to take.
As far as the Sprues go, there are two of them in the box. With the bases, this allows you to assemble a total of nine miniatures. This will allow you to build out the squad as you need from the components available.
Personally, I don’t play Separatists. However, if I ever decide to start this army, I’m 100% going to lean into the B2 Super Battle Droids. Partly because I just like the look of these more. And partly because they look a lot less spindly to assemble. Having said that, I think I’d have to run these guys just because of the amazing clone wars short featuring Mace Windu and a sea of the B2 Super Battle Droids he faced off against.
Yeah…good times.
B2 Super Battle Droids are currently up for pre-order and have a release date slated for May 23, 2025.

Seriously, how were the Droids supposed to stand up to any Jedi that could do *that* in a fight?
