Total War: Warhammer III: ‘Tides Of Torment’ Pits Slaanesh Vs. Norsca In A Clash Of Chaos
Tides of Torment is a new DLC for Total War: Warhammer III that will hurl the forces of Chaos together as Norsca and Slaanesh clash!
Norsca’s music is unmistakable. And in a brand new narrative trailer, we get to see that Norsca’s back on the menu, along with all manner of horrors beyond your comprehension. All of this awaits in an upcoming “summer” DLC for Total War: Warhammer III. In Tides of Torment, we’ll get Slaanesh and Norsca, two different flavors of Chaos clashing into one another. And the rest of the world. And whatever else they can slam into.
Tides of Torment – Norsca Shows Why They Are Feared
A new narrative trailer is one thing. But what does it mean that we get to see Norsca again? In the trailer, we see Sayl, as he creates the horrific Nightmaw. Which will apparently be a spell. How do I know? There’s also a new developer chat, wherein they take you through some of the fun new toys that Norsca will have in the upcoming DLC. Sayl is just the beginning.
There’s quite a bit to look forward to if you’re hoping to unleash the Tides of Torment. Starting with a big Norsca rework. Monstrous Arcanum will be reworked and expanded. Chaos Allegiance and the confederation system get updates as well. Wulfrik’s special Seafang ship will be on the campaign map. Throgg gets a “clever” update for his voice lines, so he can match the lore more accurately.
Although it’s not just Norsca getting updates. Slaanesh is getting a good deal of attention – though details on what that looks like are sparser. Is it because those are forthcoming later, or because it’s the most Slaaneshi thing to promise a big change and then just tease little by little to the point where it almost feels like nothing? Either way, they’ll get a reworked technology tree, as well as replenishment and autobattle updates.

Of course that’s just two of the three factions that we know of for the DLC so far. The third is as yet unannounced. Though if I had to guess, I’d say maybe High Elves. Though you never know. CA loves to surprise folks and maybe it’ll be an update for another more beleaguered faction.
We’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, brace yourself for more information as the slow march towards the rising Tide continues.
