Warhammer 40K: Chaos Knights Get A New Combatant
Time to say hello to the new Knight Ruinator for the Chaos Knights in Warhammer 40,000! It’s going to really drill the pain deep.
That’s not the sound of thunder in the distance. It’s the sound of the Chaos Knights marching to war! These daemonically aligned engines of destruction are back with a new combatant. The Knight Ruinator has some new toys that it’s bringing to the tabletop, and it’s going to be unloading into a loyalist near you.
“The Knight Ruinator packs a deadly darkflame lance for its main ranged armament, a match for the awesome three-barreled weapon on the Knight Tyrant, plus a pair of terrorpulse missile launchers that hurl swarms of armour-piercing missiles big enough to burst a Space Marine. On the left, to nobody’s surprise – with most Chaos Knights believing that having more than one decent gun is cowardice – is a vicious melee weapon called the Fellbore.”
The Chaos Knight Ruinator
As mentioned above, the Knight Ruinator has a few new weapons. First up is the main armament: the Darkflame Lance. Hey, does that thing look familiar? I’m not looking forward to seeing that gout of flame get spewed across the battlefield. The Ruinator also has the newly introduced terrorpulse missile launchers instead of heavy stubbers. Those sure do look like a certain Rumor Engine…
Finally, the Ruinator also has a gnarly-looking Fellbore. Which, if I’m not mistaken, was yet another Rumor Engine teaser. Sorry, this wasn’t a focusing array for some fancy laser weapon. It was actually a claw-type drill thingy.
Having said all that, I must admit I do like the look of this Chaos Knight. Will it be as good rules-wise as it looks? I guess we’ll have to wait until we get our hands on the new codex to find out. Speaking of which…
Chaos Knight Codex & Kit Update
Here’s a look at the new cover of the Chaos Knight Codex. Inside its covers are all the rules you’d expect to find. The new Knight Ruinator will be in there along with all the other traitorous and heretical Chaos Knights. It’s going to be a stompin’ good time!
Additionally, the new Ruinator will be sold like the updated Imperial Knight kit. There will be two different boxes for the new Chaos Knights. According to GW: “…both of which can build a Knight Desecrator or a Knight Rampager, with one containing a new sprue for the Knight Ruinator while the other can be assembled as a Knight Abominant. “
Games Workshop also teased that some more goodies are coming for both the Imperial and Chaos Knights. Detachments were mentioned. I’m not sure how many more ways they can come up with to have these massive warmachines in a ,2000-point detachment. I guess we’ll find out!
