Warhammer 40K: Thousand Sons Sekhetar Robots Up Close

We’ve got the new Sekhetar Robots in the studio and are taking a closer look at what these new Thousand Sons ‘bots are all about!
The new unit for the Thousand Sons is the Sekhetar Robots. Their origins are based in the Horus Heresy. The Thousand Sons were already well known for what they could do with empowering machines with sorcery. Post-Heresy, they were looking for more ways to create machine-servants that would be immune from the flesh-change. The Sekhetar are result of that melding of machine and magic.
“When activated by a secret hexagrammic command, Sekhetar Robots come online, complex logic routines formed over their long vigils quickly singling out priority targets and gunning down threats before their prey can say “Did that sculpture just move?”. Such are the trusted roles of guardianship that the Thousand Sons give to these constructs that they won’t let a daemon get within 10 feet of possessing one, knowing that replacing the servile purity of their protectors with the capricious whims of a warp entity would be an exceptionally bad idea.”

Apparently, these designs are based off of ancient Prosperine spirits but with a Tzeentchian twist. Most of them come with both short and long-range weapons. For harder targets that are at range they have hellfyre missile racks. When things get closer they have even more options. There’s the pyreflux meltagun if they need to punch through armor still. There’s the flesh-roasting heavy warpflamer. And for things that STILL need to get closer there is the power claw waiting to do work.
These robots do have other in-game tricks to keep the enemy on their toes. They have both the Infiltrators and Stealth rules. Combined with the above Prophetic Sentinels, they are a great option for holding objectives or other key points on the battlefield. Defensively, they also come with Toughness 6 and 4 wounds each. That’s backed by a 3+ save and a 5+ Invulnerable save. Taking them out is going to take some dedicated firepower.
Your first crack at getting your hands on these new Sekhetar Robots is in the limited run of the Warpflame Thrallband Battleforce. That boxed set is going up for pre-order this weekend so good luck getting your hands on that one!
