Warhammer 40K: Top 10th Edition Death Guard Enhancements

Goatboy here with a top 5 list of the best Enhancements from the new 10th Edition Death Guard codex, to bring you stanky victory on the tabletop!
I really think the new 10th Edition Death Guard codex is a strong book, and I am sure it is going to wreck people’s games when it finally fully comes out. There are so many powerful options, and I feel some of the Detachments even have 2+ always take enhancements in there. These are the following ones I like from the Detachments. I might even play them, as I follow in the footsteps of Mortarion.
How many different old-timey words can GW pull out of the dictionary to say about something making someone sick? If it isn’t some kind of furnace spouting out stanky plague smoke, then how can you say it is an actual enhancement for the Death Guard? Here are the ones I like, and while I probably missed a few, the codex is so full of gross things of death and destruction.
Virulent Vectorium – Furnace of Plagues
I love this weapon as it increases your melee strength and attack by 1 and then gives the weapon devastating wounds. I just love the added ability to proc those sweet, devastating wounds that can shift the combat to your favor. Sure, if you are punching things, you are most likely doing better, but anything that lets you bowl for all those 6’s is pretty good in this game.

Shamblerot Vectorium – Talisman of Burgeoning
I think I prefer the Talisman of Mozzarella Sticks, but this one is pretty good. Giving your Poxwalker unit you joined a +1 to their toughness can make those guys very annoying to chew through. Really, just having a giant pile of wounds with Feel No Pain a bit better can make or break your board-controlled zombie army.
Death Lord’s Chosen – Helm of the Fly King
This Terminator-focused detachment gives your Terminator model and the unit they are attached to a Lone Operative style ability at 18″ or more. This can let that unit survive some long-range firepower, create some bad situations for the enemy, and just let you shamble up the board with a lot less fear. I don’t know if this detachment is going to work for the game, but this Enhancement will be used if it is picked.
Tallyband Summoners – Beckoning Blight
Hey, you know what is good? Being able to Deep Strike things closer. This upgrade lets the model have a beacon-like ability to let your Nurgle Daemons come in within 6″ of the enemy if they are set up within 12″ of your Death Guard model with this enhancement. I know those foot Daemon Princes love to allow their friends to come in closer and use some sweet CP Hungry stratagems.
Mortarion’s Hammer – Shriekworm Familiar
You know what army has a ton of Torrent flamers? The Death Guard do so being able to do a free Overwatch for your torrent loving army seems pretty dang good. Having abilities that reduce or make things free can be a powerful thing.
How excited are you to get the new Death Guard codex as well as those pretty sweet neon green dice? Do you think this will be a hot and stanky summoner for 40K? Is there enough grossness to cover the tabletops in slime?
All Hail the XIVth Legion!
