We’ve got some mangled mass of ruins in today’s latest Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. What other hidden gems are there to be uncovered?

Welcome to another Tuesday and a brand new Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. Today’s image is gnarly. Mostly because it looks like something tore apart something else. You really should take a look for yourself first before we get into theories about it.

“Usually when we pull something out of the Rumour Engine, we have a vague idea what we’re looking at and riff on that. Today? No idea, absolutely none. If we knew what the word is for blowing a raspberry while shrugging, we’d write that here.”

Rumor Engine – Ruins of War

So yeah…based on the image and the text we’re looking at something that’s been wrecked. It’s a bit of a stumper though. It’s hard to make out exactly what we’re looking at here due to the debris. I can make out a few sharp corners and some metal straps. There also appears to be a chunk of metal jutting out the side. And what’s that in the lower left? Some smoke? Or perhaps it’s just more rubble.

Destroyed terrain chunks aren’t exactly new for Games Workshop. We’ve see it all over the place with the Imperial Terrain sets for 40k. I have a feeling this is either part of a new miniature’s base or a terrain set.

The Rumor Engine has that “plas-crete” look from the Imperial buildings (or what’s left of them). I think this rubble will fit in perfectly with the existing terrain features from Games Workshop. That said, this could all be a red herring. Maybe it’s from the Age of Sigmar instead. They do have metal and that could be stone instead. Who or what could have ripped it asunder? Maybe which ever model is a part of that kit!

Perhaps it’s even Orky terrain? I guess we’re going to have to wait and find out. In the meantime, if you’ve got a clue about this one drop us a line in the comments with your ideas. I’m open to suggestions for this Rumor Engine.

It’s ruins…right?
