The Horus Heresy has some new support weapons out for pre-order. We’ve got them in the studio for a closer look!

The mighty Space Marine Legions are going to war with themselves in the Horus Heresy. This conflict sees brother vs brother and to win the fight they are going to need more than just numbers. That’s where these new support units come in to play. The Tarantula Sentry Guns and Missile Batteries along with the Rapier weapon batteries. These weapons will help augment your forces and provide fire power where you need them to — even when you can get enough boots on the ground.

Today, we’re getting a closer look at these miniatures. GW sent us review copies so lets see these miniatures assembled!

Tarantula Missile Battery & Sentry Guns

Up first we have the Tarantula Missile Battery. This kit has options for either the anti-aircraft Hyperios Missiles or the two Orias Frag Missiles. I like the look of the multi-missile system personally.

There’s also the Tarantula Sentry Guns. These come with various weapon options you might find within a heavy weapon squad. For example, we went with the twin-linked melta array. But you could opt for heavy bolters, lascannons, or volkite culverines. Considering these are basically fully automated and pack a punch, I can see them being great at supporting your lines where the fire fight is the thickest.

Rapier Weapon Batteries

There are two separate Rapier Weapon Batteries. One set has the Quad Heavy Bolter and Graviton Cannon. You can see the Graviton Cannon below.

The other set features the Laser Destroyer and Quad Launcher Batteries. Below is the Laser Destroyer version.

The key thing about these new Rapier platforms is that they aren’t completely unmanned. They come with a crew that guides them and mans them during combat.

There are a handful of variations you can build the crew as. Above are just two examples but you get four marines per kit with loads of bits. So can really get crazy with the gunnery crews if you want to.

You can find all of these kits right now on warhammer.com for pre-order as well. Now is a great time to get them purchased and prepped for the new edition right around the corner!

Support your Space Marine Legions with these additional weapon platforms!
