Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Five Characters That Need New Variants

Marvel: Crisis Protocol has a ton of characters in the roster already. Here’s a few existing character I hope get a new version.

I don’t have the exact number of characters in Marvel: Crisis Protocol but I think we’re pushing closer to 200 with every new release. While I’d love to see Atomic Mass Games continue to crank out new characters for the game I’d also like to see them go back and make alternate versions of existing characters. We’ve seen them do this already as they have made variants of existing characters from different points in their Marvel careers. So with that in mind, I’ve got a few ideas for characters that are already in MCP but that could use a variant. And I’m going to stay away from ones I’ve mentioned previously (even though I’d love to see another Wolverine or two).

Professor X (Krakoa Era)

Hey, did you know that Professor X is up and walking? Technically, he’s be walking for years at this point. But the version I was thinking of for him specifically is the Professor X from the Krakoa era. Honestly, with all the mind control stuff, he’s kind of a villain…but I’m not going to get into all that. The point is that Professor X with the Cerebro helmet and a sculpt that has him walking would be pretty great!

Magneto (Resurrection)

So…Magneto died. But then he got better. Because Comics! Anyhow, when he does come back he’s changed quite a bit — at least personally. His powers are the same but I think this version has a cool, alternate suit. I think it’s an interesting direction Marvel has been taking with Magneto with the Krakoa and post-Krakoa era. Mutants have been sectioned off from the rest of Marvel stories (with a few exceptions). The end of the Krakoa era is putting them back into the Marvel world-at-large. I’m curious to see how Marvel moves forward with his character, too.

Mr. Knight (aka Moon Knight In A Suit)

This version of Moon Knight was originally cooked up by Warren Ellis during his 2014 run. If nothing else, I think this would make for a really cool model with Moon Knight standing there in a full suit adjusting his tie. If you followed the Moon Knight show on Disney+ then you know this character is basically a completely different personality. That’s part of the fun and a good excuse to give him some new rules to match.

The Punisher (The Hand)

So there was a story-arc that had Frank Castle join The Hand and basically become the avatar of The Beast. This version saw The Punisher dawn a different skull and pack some ninja-gear. Oh and he had all those Hand Ninjas at this disposal, too. If nothing else I’d like this version just for more Hand Ninjas and the possible team-up options with Elektra and Shadow-land Daredevil. And hey, I know that the time-line doesn’t exactly match-up for those things. But I don’t really mind — because comics!

The Falcon (Semi-Classic Suit)

Sam Wilson is Captain America. But he wasn’t always. I actually liked his semi-classic costume when he wore the red and white suit. And he had Red Wing assist him. While this one isn’t as 70’s as his OG Classic Suit, it’s got some modern updates that I do like. Plus AMG does a great job with characters that are flying with wings and I think they could do an awesome version of The Falcon.

There’s so many alternate versions of characters in Marvel from different timelines and just different story lines. Shoot, there’s the entire New X-Men look from the 2000s. What are some alternate version you want to see in MCP?
