Star Wars: Legion ‘A-A5 Speeder Truck’ Rules Preview – Your Battle Taxi Has Arrived

The A-A5 Speeder Truck has some updated rules for Star Wars: Legion. Let’s take a look a this transport for the tabletop!
Getting around the tabletop and into position is an important part of Star Wars: Legion. Most units have to rely on their own feet to get around. Some other might be lucky had have a vehicle to ride on. For the Rebellion and the Outer Rim Smugglers, the A-A5 Speeder Truck allows you to move whole units of infantry around and drop them off where you need them most.
“Few vehicles in the Rebellion’s arsenal better represent this mindset than the A-A5 Speeder Truck. The A-A5’s spacious design, numerous retrofits, and many modifications can enhance its humble frame to an efficient force multiplier on the battlefield. The Rebellion wasn’t the only force to integrate these into their guerilla forces. In remote conflicts on Outer Rim worlds, smugglers and mercenary raiders alike benefit from this dependable platform.”
A-A5 Speeder Truck
Clocking in with 8 health and 5 armor the A-A5 Speeder Truck is built for battle. It’s bulky and is capable of absorbing fire from the enemy. That’s important as it’s mainly used as a battle field taxi for the unit inside! It’s also more nimble than you might expect due to it’s Hover: Ground ability. You can also use that large frame to do a few positioning tricks. In particular you can use it to be in range of two objectives at once!
At the end of the day though you really want to bring this to the tabletop because of the Transport keyword. Bringing a hard hitting infantry unit to where you need this is what the A-A5 does best. You’ll want to use that Reposition to get around as well and avoid exposing the Rear to enemy fire as that’s it’s weak point.
It’s worth noting that the Outer Rim version is virtually identical in terms of keywords, stats, points, and upgrade slots. The main difference is what upgrade options you can take with either.

You can see the various upgrade cards above. It’s also important to call out that the A-A5 Speeder Truck doesn’t come with a weapon by default. You’ll need to pay a few extra points if you also want the bonus fire support.
The A-A5 Speeder Truck is going to be a part of the re-release/reboxing of units coming to Star Wars: Legion. Keep an eye out for this kit coming to pre-order very soon!
