Warhammer 40K: Imperial Knights Index Updated – A Quick Fix Before The Codex Comes

The Imperial Knights Index is getting a quick update. The Knight Defender is still on the way after an apparent delay.
I’m sure folks noticed that the Chaos Knights Codex is out and about. But weren’t we supposed to also get an Imperial Knights Codex, too? Well apparently there’s been a slight delay. In the meantime Games Workshop has released an Index: Imperial Knights update to even the score a bit.
“Codex: Imperial Knights is still a little way off, as the noble households are still looking for the keys for their new Knight Defenders. We’ll keep you posted on a release date as soon as we have it.”

To sum things up the “big Knights” (aka not Armigers) got a points reduction. So fielding them all got a little cheaper. As far at the Knights themselves, almost all of them got additional wounds but lost a point of Toughness. Basically it’s a rebalancing to keep the Imperial Knights equivalent to their chaos counterparts.
Again, there’s be a slight delay and the text jokingly refers to the “missing keys” for the Knight Defender. There were quite a few rumor swirling around about the reason for the delay of this kit. I’ll spare you crazy conspiracy theories. The fact is that we now have an official statement from GW that the Imperial Knight codex is delayed along with the Knight Defender kit.
So no, GW didn’t forget about the Imperial Knights. They are still coming — but it seems like they got stuck in the warp for a bit longer. For now, download the new Index, double check your points, and get to stomping those Knights around on the tabletop.
I blame the chaos gods tinkering with things.
