Games Workshop Rumor Engine: We Need More Power
Games Workshop has a new Rumor Engine out today and it’s got power nodes. But to what? Is this a new weapon or something else entirely?
Welcome to another Tuesday Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. I’m puzzled by the image we have today. I recognize parts of it but I’m not entirely sure what this one is. You should probably see it for yourself.
“Ah, the shimmering void beyond our holding pen has briefly dissipated for another week, so it must be time to show off another image before we are banished back into whatever realm they keep James Workshop in when it isn’t Christmas.”
Rumor Engine – We Need More Power
Okay, now that you’ve had a look at the Rumor Engine let’s start brainstorming here. Those wires and nodes remind me a whole lot of power weapons. You know what I’m talking about. Here’s a classic example:
See the nodes on Mephiston’s power sword? Those same things can be found all over Space Marine and other Imperial power weapons. From Space Marine Captains to Bladeguard Vets, to really anyone carrying a power weapon. You can find them if you look close enough.
Oh and in case you were wondering it’s not JUST the Imperium either. Chaos Space Marines have the same power nodes if you know where to look.
That said, what makes this particularly interesting is the formation of those nodes. There are three of them. That’s different. It does make me wonder if this object is actually a weapon or some sort of defensive shield. It’s hard to gauge just how large this is as well.
While I don’t think it’s a new Knight shield I also don’t want to rule that out, either! The text does drop the word “void” in it. Maybe that’s a nod to void shields in some capacity. Or maybe I’m just reaching here. Either way, it’s something to consider.
